The 16th Member of the Big Ten Conference is not:
Georgia Tech
North Carolina
Duke
Notre Dame
Texas
Kansas
Missouri
Syracuse
Pitt
UConn
Boston College
University of Toronto
The 16th Member of the Big Ten Conference will be: Vanderbilt University
But, the Big Ten will expand to 18, including Missouri and Kansas, so this will be the divisional setup
East: West:
Rutgers Minnesota
Maryland Wisconsin
Virginia Nebraska
Penn State Iowa
Ohio State Kansas
Michigan Missouri
Michigan State Vanderbilt
Indiana Illinois
Purdue Northwestern
If the Big Ten steals two SEC teams, they would be considered college football's top conference. Also, they would have the most members of any conference at 18. Eventually, the SEC will go to 16 or 20 teams. I will show you that scenario next week.

Big Ten Member 15
Today, I look at the candidates for the possible Big Ten conference's 15th member.
The Big Ten's 15th member institution will be: The Unviversity of Virginia. The Cavaliers have a mediocre athletic program in the ACC, but its lacrosse and baseball would excel in the Big Ten. The Cavs are an AAU program and a great research institution that adds 4 million homes in Virginia. Tomorrow I will present the league's 16th member and a divisional plan. If you can guess #16, you're wrong!!!!!!

State of NBC Sports
NBC Sports is the third most powerful sports group behind ESPN and Fox Sports. Today, I'm going to tell you about a plan they can put into effect to boost their reputation.
Step One: Add a second all sports channel
Replace Golf Channel with NBCSN2. It will allow for more Premier League, NHL, NCAA and Formula 1 coverage as well as major golf coverage. This can also improve NBC Sports' revenue by $100M per year, enough to gain rights to UEFA Soccer and become the world's largest soccer broadcaster.
Step Two: Purchase beIN Sport
Yes, beIN Sport, a sports cable station with a heavy focus on soccer can give them rights to La Liga and other non-American events, but can also add revenue of $20M per year.
Step Three: Take over ESPN's portion of MLB coverage
It would not be much, only Sunday Night Baseball, but cheap and still enough to pull in decent ratings. NBC could benefit greatly from this and ESPN would be weakened. So, this is a win/win situation for NBC that ESPN wouldn't even imagine.
Step Four: Attain rights to Big Ten sports
The Big Ten would be a great investment for NBC as they can air college football, EPL, and NASCAR all at once in late October. As soon as NASCAR finishes up, NHL takes center stage. As soon as the NHL finishes up, NBC starts its NASCAR coverage and the cycle continues.
If NBC follows these steps, it will overtake Fox Sports for #2 and maybe ESPN for #1 on the list of Sports TV companies.
